Visual Artist | Art Educator | Researcher
Vinod Kumar is an internationally experienced visual artist, art educator, and researcher, as well as the Founder & Director of VISTA—an organisation dedicated to advancing artistic practice through cultural exchange and global collaboration. With over six years of experience in higher education, he currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Design & Arts (FDA), Poornima University, Jaipur. He has previously worked as an Art Curator, contributing significantly to academic, curatorial, and creative environments.
He is UGC-NET qualified and specialises in Painting, Printmaking, Public Art, New Media, and Installation Art. His artistic and research interests focus on Rural Material Culture, Contemporary Art, and Socially Engaged Art, where he explores the intersection of traditional practices and contemporary expression.
His professional journey includes being selected as Kala Guru – Artist/Artisan in Residence at Poornima Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jaipur (2024–25) and serving as Organising Secretary for ICETDA (International Conference on Emerging Trends in Design and Arts). He has actively participated in international exhibitions, artist residencies, painting camps, and academic conferences.
His achievements include receiving the Silver Medal (Central Zone) from the Prafulla Dhanukar Art Foundation, Mumbai (2018) and the prestigious Rajya Yuva Kala Ratna Samman for his outstanding contribution to the visual arts.
